A certificate of approval of Institutions for carrying out tests on Ayurvedic, Siddha and Unani Drugs and raw materials used in their manufacture on behalf of Licensees who manufacture for sale of Ayurvedic Siddha and Unani drugs. The Certificate issued to Approved Drug Testing Laboratories are also to be renewed after the validity of 3 years

The premises should have all the basic requirements and facilities said under Rule 160B(2). The premises will be inspected jointly by the inspectors appointed or designated by the Central Government and State Government for this purpose and approval will be granted by the State Licensing Authority.

An application for the renewal of an approval in form 48 should make before its expiry or if the application is made within 6 months of its expiry after the payment of the additional inspection fee. The approval shall be deemed to have expired if the application for the renewal is not made within 6 months of expiry.
